Heddlu Bach
Blaenycwm Primary are proud to be a Heddlu Bach school. The children who serve on our team help tackle local issues within the local community, working alongside the local neighbourhood policing teams. We attend and support local events such as the Remembrance Day parades in Brynmawr and Nantyglo.
We work within school to help keep all pupils safe. We run assemblies on internet safety, walk to school week, operation bang and we coordinate donations for our local foodbank.
Our aim is to create ethically informed citizens of Wales, through creativeness and learning. We help build resilience in young people, and develop a successful and exciting future for young people through collaboration with communities and the police.
Article 29: Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full. It must encourage the child’s respect for human rights, as well as respect for their parents, their own and other cultures, and the environment.
